PURPOSE

Spruce Creek Landscaping was started in 2019 by Chad Aiken. Chad has been in the landscaping industry since he was 16. He worked 12 seasons on the lower cape for Blue Rose Gardens with his mentor Victoria Pecorarro, a master gardener responsible for designing and creating some of the most renowned lower cape gardens. Chad Aiken attended UNH from 2007-2011, where he studied small business entrepreneurship and received a Communication BAC.

After moving to the NH seacoast, he quickly found himself once again immersed in the landscape industry. This time around, he focused his attention on hardscape and landscape construction, where he developed his expertise.

Bailey brings a diversity of experience to the Spruce Creek Landscaping team.  Having spent his high school summers in the landscape construction industry, he knew he had an affinity for working and building outdoors.  Looking for new adventures, he attended UNH from 2007-2011, where he obtained a dual B.A. in Sociology and Justice Studies.  Following college, Bailey received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law and has since practiced in various legal disciplines.  

After many years at the desk, Bailey found himself happily back on the tools outdoors where he feels most at home.  You can find Bailey rolling in the dirt or brushing himself off in the office managing SCL operations or planning and designing your next project.

​With over 15 years in the industry, Spencer is an asset to any hardscape outfit. A native of Maine, Spencer is a true artist at heart.  His love for the outdoors is exemplified by his hardworking nature and attention to detail.  He is the Forman for SCL Landscapes and we consider ourselves lucky to have him as part of our team

New Hampshire native and UNH graduate in the hospitality industry. He enjoyed a successful 35-year career in hospitality at the same family-owned Portsmouth hotel group. For the next five years, Bill joined the Greater Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce team, serving the business community at events and promotional events. His eye for design is reflected in his role as a Personal Men's Stylist with J.Hilburn, a custom, made-to-measure company for men's clothing. "Mr. Portsmouth" is a recognizable face from all of his work in the community, notably as a member of the Ambassador Board at The Chase Home, where he has volunteered diligently helping to organize events and raise money to support the kids who reside there. Throughout his work and community involvement, Bill has always had a knowledge and love of plants and an impressive eye for landscape design and stunning seasonal planters. 

Based in southern Maine, I have been working as a gardener on the seacoast for 15 years. My love of gardening and all things plants was inevitable, having been raised by a mother with an exceptionally green thumb. Puttering in my own garden is my therapy, reevaluating plant combinations and shifting things that aren’t working. There’s always something that can be improved. And that’s why I love gardening, because it’s never finished, always evolving.

My experience in the gardening world was solidified by having had the opportunity to work under some very talented gardeners before branching off on my own. I’m passionate about helping other people learn about the plants in their gardens and maximizing their enjoyment of their space year-round. Whether it’s by providing a customized maintenance plan or consulting to give the client a better grasp on what plants will work best in their yard.
